Popcorn Machines Archives

Finest Filmmakers of the last 30 years (81-present)?

1. Steven Spielberg – He changed box office scores forever. His movies deal with various topics like the holocaust, WWII and science fiction. All his movies can be called classics. I know some who hate him. Call him a popcorn film maker. fuck you. Saving Private Ryan and Schindler’s List are fantastic. My personal favorite is Jurrasic Park for the nostalgia is brings in me (I know stupid reason, but that is the same reason Star Wars or Lawrence of Arabia is so loved).

2. James Cameron. MANY would disagree with me. Some say his movies have no story. I feel he is the BEST science fiction film maker. The terminator is my favorite film franchise. Aliens surpasses in respect when compared to Ridley Scott’s ‘Alien’. Titanic and Avatar are the most loved on the planet.
Like some people say, his movies have no story (I’m surprised). Terminators have the best story. Avatar has a great story, but it resembles Pocahontas. I don’t think making a movie on the lines of a predecessor makes that film inferior. It is better than the inferior (Ferngully,Pocahontas). His movies have good dialogue(many disagree) don’t forget ‘Hasta La Vista, Baby’ and ‘I’m the king of the world’. His movies have top notch technology. I’d compare him with Kubrick’s 2001. 2001 doesn’t have much of a story, but it has some of the best special effects of its time. Both Avatar and 2001 have mysterious attributes, Ewya is the former and he monolith in the latter. I’d give Avatar 20 years before its given its classic status. James Cameron is Awesome. My favorite is Titanic [again, nostalgia =( ]

3. Martin Scorsese. Goodfellas, The Departed, The Aviator, Gangs of New York. What else. C’est Extra

4. Coen Brothers. Every Film Classic. Fargo and No Country my favorite

5. Cameron Crowe. Almost Famous, and Jerry Maguire. Great screenwriting. Fresh

6. David Fincher. Fight Club, Social Network

7. Quentin Tarantino. Again, need no introduction. Pulp Fiction my favorite

8. Guy Ritchie. Lock Stock, RocknRolla ,Snatch

THIS IS NOT IN ORDER.

overrated list

Christopher Nolan- His brother writes the screenplays. His movies are not the finest of writings (except. Memento) . Except the protagonist and antagonist, all the other characters are dry. No depth in his movies.
Michael Mann-God I hate his movies.Badly written,Horrible camera work. especially ‘Public enemies’

IF YOU DISAGREE WITH MY LIST, TELL ME WHY (ELABORATE)

Popped mine on the stove the old fashioned way. Orville Redenbacher’s

Will I fry my popcornpopper?

I recently bought a air popcorn popper at walmart(Presto Poplite hot air popper). It works great in the US but I live in the Netherlands most of the time. The voltage is different in the US than it is in The Netherlands. The bottom of the popper says: 120 volts A.C 60Hz 1440 Watts
I have two types of converters. One that is versatile, works on all countries and one small one, a little piece that you plug the american cord into and the end is for the dutch outlets.
Will using these adapters fry/melt my machine? Or will it be ok?

What can I use instead of butter?

Old-Fashioned Popcorn Balls Always a favorite• 8 cups popped JOLLY TIME® Blast O Butter or Butter Licious Microwave Pop Corn
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1/3 cup light or dark corn syrup
• 1/3 cup water
• 1/4 cup butter or margarine
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1 tsp. vanilla
Here’s How:
Keep popped popcorn warm in 200F oven while preparing syrup. In 2-quart saucepan, stir together sugar, corn syrup, water, butter and salt. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture comes to a boil. Continue cooking without stirring until temperature reaches 270F on a candy thermometer or until a small amount of syrup dropped into very cold water separates into threads, which are hard but not brittle. Remove from heat. Add vanilla; stir just enough to mix through hot syrup. Slowly pour over popcorn, stirring to coat every kernel. Cool just enough to handle. Shape into balls, using JOLLY TIME® Pop Corn Ball Maker or buttered hands. Cool on foil or buttered wax paper. Wrap in plastic wrap; tie with a ribbon.

Yield: 12 medium popcorn balls

I’ve always wanted to try this and I’ve heard it tastes even better than cooking it in the microwave!

This is a very serious disgusting and racist question. My son is nine years old today and my wife and I got him a trampoline. He loved it by the way:) he also got a few games, am old fashioned popcorn machine, and this robot toy. Wonderful party. All his little friends were there and numerous times I saw the cute little smiles on their innocent faces.

So when we set the trampoline up in the back yard, against my better judgement I decided to jump with him. Haha I’m not that old yet!

My neighbor is extremely weird. Very suspicious yet he keeps to himself. Hes the type of neighbor who puts up do not trespass signs on his huge fence.

Do after jumping for three minutes, as I was up in the air for a moment, I saw multiple dead african americans hanging from his tree over the large fence. This is an unspeakable illegal hatecrime? WTF DO I DO?

White Elephant gift??!?

So my family is doing a white elephant exchange just for fun this year. We wanted to pick a theme for it, so we went with ‘Old School Christmas’ or like any old-fashioned christmas decoration or anything that was popular from the 60′s or earlier. I have no idea what to get! The limit is and its supposed to be like a joke but I can’t think of anything good. I was thinking a bubble light, but I can’t find any place that sells them. And no, I’m not doing stringed popcorn haha. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?? Thank you soo much! Happy Holidays!

does exercising really help losing weight?

I was exercising for 30 minutes and the machine showed I lost 500 calories
I went to the store bought popcorn and it contained around 400 calories (big size)

so how does exercise help? its only a small amount of calories i lost
i knew its better than nothing but it wouldn’t have significant effect on my weight right?

for christmas my dad bought my sister this really cool popcorn maker machine.

we only use it a couple of times, so it doesn’t taste the best.
