How long do cranberry/popcorn garlands last?

Im wanting to do an old fashion christmas tree this year and would love to make a cranberry/popcorn garland. With Christmas two weeks away, will the garland look as good as it would if I made it today or should I wait? If I should wait, how long?
I plan to take them outside after Christmas for a nice tasty treat for the birds.

If you string them with clean new tread…….Then use as decorations…..after that hang them up elsewhere for fianl drying……..Dried cranberries are done this way….We Native Americans did it and I still do….Once dried fully……I jar them…..they keep a very long time….good to eat as dried fruit…but, better still is taking them out..placing in an ice water bath and left to sit over night..then cook for fresh cranberry dishes
