Reg setting 3 1/2 minutes is always what I go with.
Microwaved popcorn always shrivels when butter is dumped onto though.
Butter in a pan on the stove is my favorite way to pop corn.
Cast Iron pan.
You should put it on HIGH. You should ALWAYS stand by the microwave and watch and listen to the popcorn as it is being popped, no matter how old or new your microwave oven is. NEVER EVER trust those "popcorn" buttons on the newer microwave ovens, they’re NEVER accurate! I have many fireman friends, and they ALL tell me that leaving microwave popcorn unattended in the microwave oven is one of the leading causes of home and office fires. Many workplaces ban microwave popcorn for this very reason. You should leave the popcorn on HIGH until the popping slows down, so that you’re only hearing 1 or 2 pops a second. DO NOT wait for the popping to stop altogether, because your popcorn will be burnt to black.
