Okay so my aunt, three best friends and i are hosting a carnival in June durning the summertime. So far we have a snow cone machine cotten candy popcorn maker and a few games. we are also having a ring toss you throw a ring on a soda and win it the glass toss you toss a washer into a piece of glass and win candy a dart throw balloons for the kids and a goldfish game. We were wondering if it was a good idea. we will not buy fish. Instead of fish they get a coupon from a local pet store to get a free goldfish. The coupons cost ten dollars for forty. The coupons can be used anytime they want to as long it isn’t a sunday the pet store closes. We were wondering if this was a good idea?
Thank you for the nice commets but really the coupons are only good for the fish. If they do not want fish or the parents at least we will have at least a prize box filled with little toys and candy.

My Super Duper Extra-Sweet 16!?

So, I’m turning 16 next year! Yeah, I said next year, but these things take a long time to plan.
My birthday is in the middle of summer, and all I’ve ever done is have a river/backyard/luau themed party. I want something different.
Since I already have my car and am not getting one for my Sweet 16, hopefully I can go a little higher in the budget.
I am not spoiled, other than the fact that my "Grandpa" owns a limo company, so I can get a limo occasionally.

Here are the ideas I’ve been thinking of recently:
1) Highlighter party- everybody wears white, there are black-lights and glowing things everywhere, and we just go highlighter crazy and colour each other. :D If I choose this theme, the party will most likely be held in some sort of club (I live in West Virginia, so venues are kind of hard to come by). I’ll probably buy DJ Hero or get a DJ booth set up where everyone can take turns DJing.

2) Under The Sea theme- Lots of blue’s and green’s, a sequin dress (or two!). This theme is a little outdated, but since it’s the middle of summer, it makes sense. :P

3) Candyland theme- This theme was inspired by this cake (http://www.pinkcakebox.com/images/cake665.jpg) and the music video for "California Gurls"! Very colourful, the invitation comes in the form of a candy necklace that you can’t get in without, etc. (Sorry, my brain is kind of fried right now!)

4) Carnival/fair theme- (I know it’s not the same thing, blahblahblah ;P) The fair usually comes around that time of year, so I was thinking since Grandpa knows basically everyone in town, he could hook me up and maybe have it like shut down or something for the day. I’ve never been on a ferris wheel before, so that would be really cool (: If not, just a backyard party. Game booths, popcorn machine, prizes, cotton candy machine, and just the usual fair stuff.

I also would like to have a performer. I was thinking someone like Justin Bieber, VersaEmerge, NeverShoutNever, or Katy Perry. I’m not sure if this can happen because of cost, but if it can, who would you like to see if you could go?

Thanks in advance :D
@Summer: I understand where you’re coming from with the performer thing. I have people I know who are in bands, but I’m not sure they’re the type of music I’d want played at my party, even though that’s the type of music I generally listen to.

I was actually thinking of a Disney Princess theme (Not sure which one), but since my skin is darker, people think I can’t pull it off. *EYE ROLL*

Actually, now I was thinking that I would get some people together and do a hip-hop dance, and have a dance party. Dance parties are like really common these days though.

UGH, I don’t know! D:

i want to get a real popcorn machine thats not tiny but like those carnival ones (the persons height)….so where can i order one thats under 0

15th Birthday Party Carnival ideas?

So im turning 15 in in Nov. of 2009. Im thinking of having my party the summer AFTER that, and renting out a pavillion at Moraine Hills State Park (http://www.stateparks.com/moraine_hills.html) and renting/buying (I checked it out, they are the same price either way) a bouncie house. Renting a snowcone machine, a popcorn machine, maybe a ferris wheel if im lucky, tons of bubble machines, a baloon twister, maybe some quarter games (heh, arnt i greedy?!?!?) a merrygoround if im really lucky, clowns, music, etc. Do you have any other ideas, or combonations of attractions? (theres no way I could ever afford to get ALL of these things, do you have any shortcuts?) Do you recomend any businesses? Any pictures of your carnival party/ or a friends? Anything helps, thanksies

Birthday Party?

(This is iBella’s mom)

I have a 2 year old boy and as of Tuesday, i will have a 2 year old daughter (adopting her)

Their birthdays are only 2 days a part so we were thinking of having a joint party.

The party will be in June. (I know it’s far away, but I like to plan ahead.)

Would a carnival idea be cute?

We would rent ponies, have cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, games, etc.

We would buy:
-cotton candy machine
-popcorn machine
-snow cone machine
-game stands
-games
-prizes
-food

When each kid comes, they will receive 100 coins(fake). They can use these coins to play games, go on pony rides, buy snacks (cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones).

After they play a game, they will receive tickets. They can take these tickets to the ‘Prize Booth’ and trade the tickets in.

The lunch menu will be foods like hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, etc. Stuff like that.

We will buy a small pool and fill it with 1 foot of water then put plastic boats in. The kids can do bumper boats. Life Vests will b
be provided. The normal pool will of course be set up for older kids. (It’s kind of hard to take down an in-ground pool)

We also have one of those blow up water slides that we will put up.

We are buying 2 of those bouncy house things.

A face painting booth will be set up.

A balloon station will be set up.

Any other ideas?

They are turning 3.

A good Popcorn Popper-Machine ?

My sister wants to host a party for her daughter and she wants to buy a popcorn machine..
Any good brands for serving 20+??
Since this is a carnival-theme we want to make it look cool for the kids so a popcorn machine is better
