My Super Duper Extra-Sweet 16!?

So, I’m turning 16 next year! Yeah, I said next year, but these things take a long time to plan.
My birthday is in the middle of summer, and all I’ve ever done is have a river/backyard/luau themed party. I want something different.
Since I already have my car and am not getting one for my Sweet 16, hopefully I can go a little higher in the budget.
I am not spoiled, other than the fact that my "Grandpa" owns a limo company, so I can get a limo occasionally.

Here are the ideas I’ve been thinking of recently:
1) Highlighter party- everybody wears white, there are black-lights and glowing things everywhere, and we just go highlighter crazy and colour each other. :D If I choose this theme, the party will most likely be held in some sort of club (I live in West Virginia, so venues are kind of hard to come by). I’ll probably buy DJ Hero or get a DJ booth set up where everyone can take turns DJing.

2) Under The Sea theme- Lots of blue’s and green’s, a sequin dress (or two!). This theme is a little outdated, but since it’s the middle of summer, it makes sense. :P

3) Candyland theme- This theme was inspired by this cake (http://www.pinkcakebox.com/images/cake665.jpg) and the music video for "California Gurls"! Very colourful, the invitation comes in the form of a candy necklace that you can’t get in without, etc. (Sorry, my brain is kind of fried right now!)

4) Carnival/fair theme- (I know it’s not the same thing, blahblahblah ;P) The fair usually comes around that time of year, so I was thinking since Grandpa knows basically everyone in town, he could hook me up and maybe have it like shut down or something for the day. I’ve never been on a ferris wheel before, so that would be really cool (: If not, just a backyard party. Game booths, popcorn machine, prizes, cotton candy machine, and just the usual fair stuff.

I also would like to have a performer. I was thinking someone like Justin Bieber, VersaEmerge, NeverShoutNever, or Katy Perry. I’m not sure if this can happen because of cost, but if it can, who would you like to see if you could go?

Thanks in advance :D
@Summer: I understand where you’re coming from with the performer thing. I have people I know who are in bands, but I’m not sure they’re the type of music I’d want played at my party, even though that’s the type of music I generally listen to.

I was actually thinking of a Disney Princess theme (Not sure which one), but since my skin is darker, people think I can’t pull it off. *EYE ROLL*

Actually, now I was thinking that I would get some people together and do a hip-hop dance, and have a dance party. Dance parties are like really common these days though.

UGH, I don’t know! D:

My (Hopefully) Sweet 16!?

Since I already have my cars (I say cars because my parent’s own a car dealership. I AM NOT SPOILED. One car, which I have sold, was inherited; my truck was bought for 0 at a yard sale, and will also be getting sold. My Camaro will be my only car, and it’s not in the best condition.) and am not getting one for my Sweet 16, hopefully I can go a little higher in the budget.
I am not spoiled, other than the fact that my surrogate grandpa owns a limo company, so I can get a limo occasionally.

Here are the ideas I’ve been thinking of recently:

Very colourful, the invitation comes in the form of a candy necklace that you can’t get in without, crazy candy centerpieces, a cupcake bar where everybody can put different candies on cupcakes, etc.

3) Carnival/fair theme- (I know it’s not the same thing, blahblahblah ;P) The fair usually comes around that time of year, so I was thinking since Grandpa knows basically everyone in town, he could hook me up and maybe have it like shut down or something for the day. I also want to have a portion of the party set up where me and some friends can perform a hip-hop dance. I don’t know which of the themes above, or any other ones, would fit well with this. If you have any other suggestions, please let me know. I’m not trying to go all overboard and spend 896,000$ like the kids on MTV. I just want to make sure that it’s special because, after all, you only turn 16 once!

Is this a waste of time and money?

My dad just bought a big popcorn maker, cotton candy machine, and snow cone maker. we are going camping this weekend and decided that we’re gonna bring all this stuff with us, make popcorn, snow cones, and cotton candy and give it away to people. No charge, just doing something nice. but we also can use this stuff in our game and theatre room. do you think this is a waste of time and money or just a win win situation?

How much does a stripper cost?

Just playing I really need to know on average how much does it cost to rent a popcorn and cotton candy machine. And where can I go to buy food in bulks for a party in Illinois Thanks for the help

Birthday Party?

(This is iBella’s mom)

I have a 2 year old boy and as of Tuesday, i will have a 2 year old daughter (adopting her)

Their birthdays are only 2 days a part so we were thinking of having a joint party.

The party will be in June. (I know it’s far away, but I like to plan ahead.)

Would a carnival idea be cute?

We would rent ponies, have cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones, games, etc.

We would buy:
-cotton candy machine
-popcorn machine
-snow cone machine
-game stands
-games
-prizes
-food

When each kid comes, they will receive 100 coins(fake). They can use these coins to play games, go on pony rides, buy snacks (cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones).

After they play a game, they will receive tickets. They can take these tickets to the ‘Prize Booth’ and trade the tickets in.

The lunch menu will be foods like hot dogs, hamburgers, brats, etc. Stuff like that.

We will buy a small pool and fill it with 1 foot of water then put plastic boats in. The kids can do bumper boats. Life Vests will b
be provided. The normal pool will of course be set up for older kids. (It’s kind of hard to take down an in-ground pool)

We also have one of those blow up water slides that we will put up.

We are buying 2 of those bouncy house things.

A face painting booth will be set up.

A balloon station will be set up.

Any other ideas?

They are turning 3.

Hey!
I’m having my sweet 16 in early september and i don’t know what to do for it! So far I have 2 decent ideas:
1.) Think "drive in movie". I would get a huge movie screen and put it in my backyard with quilts on the grass and play 1-2 movies on the big screen. I would get pizza and have an old fashioned popcorn/cotton candy machine. I would also have baskets with movie candy in them on each quilt. I would be able to invite 40-50 people(boys&girls) for this party.
2.) My second idea is a day on the town(in Boston). I would pick 6 of my closest friends(a little hard to do) and take a limo downtown(about 20 mins.) and get mani/pedis for all girls. Then we’d go out to lunch and shop the whole day in Boston on Newberry St. This can only be around 6 *girls* though.
—I love both ideas! If you were my age (going to be a junior in H.S.) which would you rather attend? Please let me know which is better & if you have any other ideas(try to keep them inexpensive!)Thanks so much!-Isabella
