Microwave popcorn with butter or popcorn made the old fashioned way in a popper with butter added to it?

Also, what’s the difference between air popped corn and microwave popcorn?

I have some bags of microwave popcorn from a friend, but my microwave CAN NOT cook popcorn. It cooks about 5 kernals and the rest burn. I’m gunna make popcorn the old fashion way, on the stove, but could i use the popcorn kernels from the microwaveable bag? Like take the kernels out of the uncooked microwave bag and cook them on the stove?

Like in a campfire popcorn popper. I want to just throw a few packets of microwave popcorn into my camping box, So i will have them in there. Cant i just tear them open and pop them in a metal camping or fireplace popper, with the long handle?
Well, I already HAVE the packets, but not the regular kind, and I want them to be small and portable.
