Okay, so my girlfriend wants a popcorn popper for her birthday. We have been together on and mostly off for a little over a year now and she wants a popcorn popper for her birthday. Money is not a problem when it comes to buying presents, I just don’t know what would be a better choice.
The two choices I have are either a PRESTO Orville Redenbacher Air Popper or a Paramount Entertainment Movie-Theater Style 6oz popper.
Remember, I am going for taste. Price doesn’t matter.

I am throwing a big bash for my son’s second birthday. I plan his birthdays 6 months in advance so I can have every detail down and can aqcuire things along the way so it doesn’t seem like sucha big expenditure. And it really isn’t.since I make my own invitations, posters, and most of the decorations, and I make my own cakes, and we own a theater-style popcorn machine. My younger brother offer free entertainment as a funny (not scary) clown and a magician. ALso, it begs mentioning that his birthday falls smack in the middle of my annual family reunion, and there are LOADS of children, so there are lots of guests, some of whom we only see once a year.
I was out and found some cool popcorn boxes that would fit his circus theme birthday at the dollar store and bought two of them. The other moms I was with were shocked. One said she just didn’t "do" birthdays Theother said she celeberated 3,9,12,and 16, and tought I was stupid for planning a party so early, or eve at all, saying I would spoil my son. HOwever, after this little exchange, they both made sly hints to find out weather or not their children were going to be invited to the party .
Now, my question is: What is your policy on birthdays? Do you do one yearly? Are they big or small? How much of a birthdya is too much? Do you do lots of presents or no presents? WHat is your basic theology on birthday parties?
since my son, and several of his little guests are so young, we do the present opening AFTER the party for the most part, so we don’t have the tearful "That’s mine!" exchange from a child who doesn’t undersand the concept of gifts yet.
